Lady Luck Reef Has Casino Motif

Shipwreck Park may just be the answer for John Knox Village residents who want to enjoy a park experience that is certainly off the beaten (land) path.
Lady Luck, all 324 feet of her, was sunk on a typically hot, but calm, July afternoon a mile-and-a-half east of the Pompano Pier.
A sizable flotilla of assorted boats encircled the former Newtown Creek—a longerthan-a-football-field former sludge tanker from New York City—for the controlled sinking. Lady Luck, now rests in some 127 feet of crystal clear Atlantic waters and is the largest addition to Shipwreck Park, which follows an imaginary boundary from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea to the south up to Deerfield Beach Pier.
