POMPANO BEACH – 12/06/2015 – John Knox Village residents John and Diane Dalsimer led the traditional service and lighting of the Menorah Sunday in a ceremony on the first night of Hanukkah.

Also called the Festival of Lights, the eight-night holiday commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. Every evening through December 14 another Menorah candle was lit.

The Villagers Men’s Chorus also performed for the more than 100 attendees, which included President/CEO Gerry Stryker. Afterwards residents and their guests enjoyed beverages and latkes.
